Partially so I make sure everything's in order with my own files. Partially because this may actually be getting long enough for me to create a list (eep!)

FYI for anyone in the Boston metro area who might be interested. I'm honestly much more tempted by the Tom Baker offerings this round. Decisions, decisions...

I'm sure I'm not the first on this news, but here we go... Series Four DVDs for Doctor Who will be released on November 18th. :)

Source: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Doctor-Series-4/10188

I, for one, will be keeping an eye out for the sales at Barnes & Noble as I did last year. The sales price was fabulous (I think I got it for $55 or so).

My husband, my housemate, and I were glued to the screen in near silence for an hour. We all enjoyed it... a lot, but we were rather contemplative and soft-spoken once it ended as we gave our initial thoughts.

spoilers... lots and lots of spoilers... )

that will be witty or as intelligent as other people will regarding this episode.

So I'm just going to gape stupidly at my computer for a while. Because yeah... I'm just stunned.

In a good way.

But... stunned.

but seriously... )

It's going to be a long week... a really long week.

Since I promised this before the end of the weekend...

I enjoyed it. It's not my favorite Moffat episode (Blink still wins - but honestly, I don't expect much to ever top Blink), but there are scenes in this episode that I absolutely adore.

Short, short version: I loved Forest of the Dead. I do, however, need to watch it again because watching Who with a hangover is not the best way to enjoy it. *blush*

little spoilery? )

Off to bed... will write an actual review tomorrow. :)

SPDN, please feel free to link. Everyone else, please feel free to pass along to your friends and communities (please ask moderators if it's not your own community first, however!)

The Zero Room fanfic archive is ready for submissions. We're still settling in with the headers for the site, but the categories and necessary story classifications are ready to go. It will eventually be moving to its own domain, but for now can be found at http://www.measi.net/fanfiction/

All ratings are welcome from all eras of Doctor Who, Torchwood, or Sarah Jane Adventures fiction, including crossovers from the Who universe and other fandoms. We have no moderation queues - authors are responsible for archiving their own fanfiction. Instead of a recommended list, a featured story is located on the index page, selected at random by the archive webscript.

Come join us! :)

They're doing some pipe work in our neighborhood, so our water's shut off. No laundry for me at the moment.

So instead, I'm doing the writing part of my day. For warm ups...

1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn on your music player and put it on random/shuffle.
3. Write a drabble related to each song that plays. You only have the time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts, and stop when it’s over. No lingering afterwards!
4. Do ten of these, then post them.

Fandom: Doctor Who (obviously)

I don't freeverse enough.  This felt pretty good.  Whether or not they make sense?  I dunno.  They do to me because I get what I was seeing/feeling.  I also haven't done drabbles before.  Maybe I should entertain the idea more often.  Does this break my concept of avoiding songfic, though?

Eh, if it does... I'll consider myself shamed and just go with it.

The weird thing is that I notice how I listen to music... I rarely listen to words (got stuck and did a double-take on one song... lyric stuck out, and I literally stopped writing and just laughed.  It broke the mood.   But I listen to the music, not the words, and work off THAT emotion, which is probably why some of these go a bit random from what the song is about.  And why #10 worked so damn well (it's such an incredibly sad piece of music to begin with).

#10 may be something I revisit, BTW.  A couple others have potential, too.  But #10 really just sticks out to me.

Like... a lot.

Nothing here that's above a PG-13, for those who care about such ratings.  Other than a quick spellcheck, these are otherwise untouched, since I presume that's the intention of the meme.
