I'm sure I'm not the first on this news, but here we go... Series Four DVDs for Doctor Who will be released on November 18th. :)

I, for one, will be keeping an eye out for the sales at Barnes & Noble as I did last year. The sales price was fabulous (I think I got it for $55 or so).

I'm sure the UK will be delighted to know that they're finally getting their DVDs before us, for once. The last couple of years they've had a good 2-3 month wait after the R1 release; I've never heard an adequate explanation for why that's been the case.

Granted, it's only a couple of weeks, but they've gotta take their schadenfreude where they can get it. At least it's out before Christmas.

I think you're getting TV shows mixed up. The UK has always gotten the box sets before us:

The UK has gotten them all earlier than the U.S. Last year they finally were released essentially together.

Region 1 release dates (Can/US):
Series 1 Feb 14, 2006/July 4, 2006

Wow, if the sale price in anywhere around what you paid of last series, I will be a very happy person. I'll certainly be keeping and eye out.

And LOL at your icon. I love those 'yep' aliens so much. In fact, I've been known to drive my roommates crazy by walking around and talking like them...yeah...between that and me talking like Rainman on occasion, I'm usually subject to some pretty strange looks, heheh.

The MSRP is $99.95 - the price cited above was achieved through a combination of BN's normal discount, plus the member's discount, plus a coupon.

I always post (and offer up to the relevant comms) a breakdown of the pricing between the four majors (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Deep Discount, and Best Buy) when the set comes up for preorder.

TV Shows on DVD has listed the date, but none of those three has it listed for preorder yet. I edited the Wikipedia article on Doctor Who DVD releases to reflect the new information - mayhaps some wayward staffer at one of the majors will see it and they'll get a preorder up and running.

Oh yay! I'm hoping the DT diaries will also be another special feature available. I don't see it listed there and would be completely surprised if there were none for this year especially.

Oh and it's cool that we seem to be getting this boxset only a day after it's released in the UK!! (according to Amazon UK; set to release on Nov 17th).

I'm tempted to wait until they are both released to see whether both have the exact same content. Thanks for the info!

And $55 for S3 is an amazing price!!! :D
