I'm really not sure how, between the time I posted last night and this morning when I got to work that my "Time Lord Tricks" icon (about sexuality and seduction) had changed to something about Texas and the death penalty. That was NOT my doing. While I may have smirked a bit at the message on it, it's not something I'd ever be attaching to my journal, especially in an icon... and especially attached to a fanfic I was promoting.

Needless to say... I'm a bit horrified at the moment.

So if it offended anyone, please accept my apologies. I didn't put it there. Honest to God, I didn't. But it showed up on my journal, so I feel it necessary to apologize regardless of how it got there. As soon as I found it there this morning, I deleted that icon entry entirely from my userpics list. I'm bummed that my time lord tricks icon is gone - but better that than what I saw on my journal this morning. ;P The odd thing is that my credit for the REAL icon that was in that slot was removed, too - so I'm completely befuddled as to what happened.

Passwords to my journal are now changed, all that jazz, just in case. *shudder*

Anyway...

I'm both relieved and happy to hear the fic is being well-received so far. I'm honestly surprised at the number of "is there more?" questions. I hadn't planned on it, to be honest. But wiggiemomsi, who bought the fic in question, also suggested a return to that universe. So I suppose that yes, there will be. As of yet, I don't know what form it's going to take, however.

We'll get there. In the meantime, after some thought on the train this morning, I've signed up for the next installment of Support Stacie. The next auction is April 3-6th. Yay!

ETA: Which reminds me. I don't have enough Nine icons. *sigh* Suggestions?

Supposedly those icon switches (I had it happen to me last year, though only the once thus far) are glitches in the LJ database or something, not indication of hacking or anything similar. I changed all my passwords too, just to be safe, but I haven't had any other trouble.

Yah, I've had this happen to a few icons (they get switched back eventually). It's highly annoying. Lucky for me, it has been all harmless switches.

Yeah, dameruth is right. They've decentralized the icon serving which has caused mislabeling of icons in the database (there was an lj post about it a couple of weeks ago). So you'll see the wrong one and some people looking at your post will also see the wrong one but other people will see the right one. I've had it happen a couple of times that I know of. The last time it happened I commented that my icon was wrong and half the people said 'huh?' and the other half agreed with me.

Adding to the "me, too" comments. This happened with my "Voldemart" icon--randomly changed to a Grey's Anatomy character at one point.

I don't know if you deleted your icon from your computer or not, or whether you have a back up copy of it, but if you don't...I collect icons that make me smile and save them on my computer. I don't ever use them without a little line stating who made them, and then only if the creator says it is okay. I happened to have saved yours, and if you need a copy of it I can upload it for a few hours and then take it off my journal. Just if you need it.

That would be awesome - I probably have a copy of it somewhere, but with the computer issues and other stuff of the last few months, my files are a mess at the moment.

okay. I *swear* I had it, but now it isn't on either of my compuers. I did have a computer crash a few months ago, but I thought I had backed everything up. I am so so so so sorry!

I never have enough icons. I swear I need more. I am in so many fandoms, what I have is never enough. When you get answers, I would love to hear them.
